Manager, SEAM Corp Affairs and Research Programs
Jan Madole joined The Society of Exploration Geophysicists as the Research Programs Manager in June of 2009. Her duties include the administrative management of SEG Advanced Modeling Corporation (SEAM), coordination and support for the IQ Earth Initiative, and supporting other SEG research programs of interest to the members.
SEAM Corporation was established in February 2007 as a wholly owned subsidiary of SEG. It is directed by a separate Board of Directors with the purpose of advancing the science, technology, and art of geophysics as broadly as possible. SEAM is a collaborative industrial research consortium that focuses on subsurface model construction and generation of geophysical datasets for problems of importance to the resource-extraction industry.
Jan's duties include proposal development; contract negotiation and management; fiscal management and reporting; and regulatory compliance for the SEAM research projects. She also manages any external grant/contract funding for the projects.
Jan is a proud graduate and retiree of Oklahoma State University. Her last position at OSU was the Assistant Director for Agriculture Sponsored Programs, and after 28 years, she retired to accept the position of Director of Research and Sponsored Programs at the University of Montana. While working at OSU, Jan received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Technical Writing.
